Adam Gilchrist - The story of a charismatic wicket-keeper

The story of that charismatic wicket-keeper who made the world crazy with his aggressive batting, more than his wicket-keeping. This pillar was broken by former Australian wicket keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist with his debut.

There are very few such cricketers. Whose world discusses even after his retirement. One of them is the story of a batsman who not only lived the world of cricket but played in such a way that the world was crazy and took cricket to such heights where hardly anyone could reach again. Cricket is a batsmen’s game where the part-timers or the wicket-keeper didn’t have much to do to show their abilities but this pillar was broken by former Australian wicket keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist with his debut.

It would not be wrong to say that with the arrival of Adam Gilchrist, an exciting era had started in cricket and with his retirement, it would not be wrong to say that the end of the most complete era ever. In the entire history of cricket till date, hardly ever saw and will ever see a wicket keeper batsman like Adam Gilchrist. A wicket keeper whose batting was more exciting for which he has won accolades than his wicket keeping skills. Not only to bat in an era of lethal bowlers like Allan Donald, Wasim Akram, Shane Bond and Shoaib Akhtar who were used to terrorizing the batsman but this flamboyant batsman has changed the thinking about wicket-keepers completely.

For three decades, cricket has seen many great wicket-keepers, but a fast left-handed batsman first came in the late 90’s where former great Ian Haley said goodbye to cricket. There was a lot of question whether someone can replace Hailey’s benchmarks or not. But Gilchrist answered all this and started a new era of cricket with his presence on the crease. With his arrival Gilchrist changed a lot where today's wicket-keeper has to work hard to get a place in the team whereas before Gilchrist it was quite different. Gilchrist's pairing with Hayden proved to be the most dangerous pair in the world, who not only blew away the bowlers with his batting but also made everyone crazy about his batting.
