294 vs India (2011)


This is the highest test score in the career of Alastair Cook and one of his absolute best innings that he has ever played in his career. It was a test match against India at Edgbaston in 2011 and in that time he was in the prime of his career scoring centuries for fun. Cook showed steely determination and skill to bat for close to 12 hours and in that time he showed that he truly was a special player and he was making the good Indian bowling attack look quite ordinary and he came just short of scoring a triple century but it was a masterclass In test batting and this is still remembered to this day by English fans.

235* vs Australia (2010)


This innings is perhaps one of the most famous innings that Alastair Cook played in his career and that is because he played this innings in an Ashes opener vs Australia in their most lethal ground which is the Gabba and England were trailing by 221 runs when he came into bat and there was all kinds of pressure on him and he stood up for his country in a difficult time and batted for under 600 minutes and due to this effort by him the rest of the England team were inspired and they won a historic Ashes series in Australia.

263 vs Pakistan (2015)


This was a really special innings in the career of Alastair Cook as it came in foreign conditions against a great team with a good bowling attack and he showed all his class in this one innings in Abu Dhabi in 2015. Pakistan made over 500 In their first innings and it was up to England to answer back in style and Cook lead the way for England to do just that. He batted and batted and he frustrated the Pakistan bowlers so much that they were bowling where he wanted not where they wanted to bowl and that is such a special quality as a batter to have. This innings is celebrated across the world even today as one of his very best and even though the match ended in a draw this will always be a special memory for him.

176 vs India (2012)


This was the first match of the 2012 England tour to India and it was expected that India would hand England another series loss but Alastair Cook was determined to make an impact in this series and create history for England. This innings that he played was in the first test match of this series in Ahmedabad and he was in his element as he played gorgeous strokes all across the ground and showed other foreign batters who come to India how to bat in these conditions and his 176 helped England avoid a heavy defeat in this match but it energized the whole team and they won the series 2-1.

244* vs Australia (2018)


This was one of the all time great match saving innings in test cricket history and it came from nine other than the genius known as Alastair Cook as he was in the last stages of his career but when England traveled to Australia and they lost the first three test matches and were on the course for a whitewash but Cook had other plans as he just kept batting and scoring runs and the great Aussie Bowlers had no answers to his batting as they tried everything to get him out but he played an innings of a lifetime and scored 244* and drew England the test match.
