And these 2 had some memorable contests whenever they faced each other and both wanted to do better than the other one and as a result it raised their game.

Richard Hadlee was not as prolific an ODI player as he was in test cricket. Still , he played 115 ODIs for New Zealand and in those he scored 1751 runs at an average of 21.61 and he had a highest score of 79. As a fast bowler he took 145 wickets in ODIs at an average of 21.56 and he also took 5 Five wicket hauls in ODIs.

Kapil Dev
We are back talking about the greatest all round cricketer to ever play for India and many call him the greatest ever. Kapil Dev was the start of the fast bowling revolution in India and following in his footsteps many fast bowlers started coming out of India and he was a great batter.

Kapil Dev was a generational test cricketer as he was one of the only few to have played 131 Test Matches without an injury. He has scored a total of 5248 Test runs at an average of 31.05 and he made 8 Test hundreds in his career with a highest score of 163. As a fast bowler he was sensational as he took 434 Test Wickets at an average of 29.64 and he took 23 Five wicket hauls and 2 times he has taken 10 wickets in a test match. He had a career best performance of 9/83 in test cricket.
ODI Cricket
Kapil Dev was probably the only 1 of the 4 that had an equally great ODI career like he did in test cricket. He played 225 ODIs for India and in those he scored 3783 runs at an average of 23.79 with 1 hundred and that 175* is considered the greatest ODI innings of all time. And as a fast bowler he was equally good as he took 253 wickets in ODIs at an average of 27.45 and he also took 1 Five wicket haul in ODI Cricket.

When we compare the stats of the 2 best ever from their nations we see that as a batter Kapil Dev was an edge aa he scored more than 2000+ runs than Richard Hadlee but as a fast bowler will give the edge to Hadlee as he played 45 less test Matches than Kapil Dev but was only 3 wickets behind Kapil. And in ODIs, Kapil Dev has a clear edge in batting as he made more than 2000+ ODI runs than Hadlee and as a fast bowler he took 100+ wickets in ODIs.
