This was a match that West Indies would like to forget in a hurry but it looks like they will not be allowed to do so because in this match South Africa took them to the cleaners as three of their batters hit big hundreds and they put West Indies in a lot of misery in this match. However out of all the 3 centuries it was the 149 by AB De Villiers that is still remembered fondly today because of how brutal and how quick it was and all the fans who were watching the match were shell shocked.
AB De Villiers was a very special player and he had played a lot of great innings by then but this one that he played was at the top of the list for him as well as everyone and this match was at Johannesburg.

Before the carnage by ABD , the openers who were Hashim Amla and Rilee Roussouw smashes the West Indies bowlers to all parts of the ground and they stitched together a partnership of 247 for the first wicket which was one of the highest and both the batters hit big hundreds as Hashim Amla hit 153 not out from 144 balls and he hit 14 fours in his innings and Rilee Roussouw smashed 128 from 115 balls hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes and when he got out it was AB De Villiers who came out to bat.

The ABD Show that rocked the world
AB De Villiers came to the crease at 247 and only 11 overs were left and to imagine the kind of innings he played in just 11 overs was sheer madness and only happens in book cricket and even there sometimes the players get out long before. AB De Villiers only played 44 balls and he absolutely destroyed and decimated the entire West Indies Bowling and he hit 9 fours and a mammoth 16 sixes in his innings which means he hit 132 runs out of 149 in just boundaries. The ball was just flying into the stands all around the ground as he hit sixes in the off side, leg side behind the wicket and he played all types of shots from the sweep to the scoop to the reverse sweep. It was truly an innings for the ages.
