The single best bowling performance in the career of Ashish Nehra and the match which made him.a star was this World Cup match against England. India batted first and they made a good score of 250 in their 50 overs and while chasing Ashish Nehra did not allow the England batters to get in any kind of rhythm and he took 6 wickets in 10 overs and he gave away only 23 runs that means an economy of 2.3 per over. He became a household name after this incredible performance.
6/59 vs Sri Lanka (2005)
Even though this performance came in a losing cause it is still one of the best bowling performances of Ashish Nehra. Sri Lanka were batting first in this match and every Bowler other than him was going for runs but not picking up any Wickets and then he stepped up and got 6 wickets in total in 10 overs giving away 59 runs and getting his second 5 wicket haul in ODIs.

4/72 vs Pakistan (2005)
It looks like 2005 was a great career year for Ashish Nehra as the third bowling performance that we are talking about came against Pakistan in 2005 in a high scoring match. India scored a massive 356 in their 50 overs and while chasing even though Ashish Nehra went for over 7 runs an over he picked up 4 important Wickets which allowed India to win this match by 58 runs. This is the second performance from the 2003 World Cup we will be talking about so it can be said that Ashish Nehra had a stellar campaign at that tournament and in this match against Sri Lanka he was at his lethal best. While batting first In this match, India got 292 runs on the board and while chasing Ashish Nehra got 4 wickets in just 7 overa while giving away 35 runs in his spell and India won by a mammoth 183 runs.
