6/21 vs South Africa (1996)


This was one of his best bowling performances in his entire career and it came in a very crucial test match against a very strong South Africa team in 1996. It came in the fourth Innings of this test match which allowed India to win the test match by 64 runs. South Africa were chasing a target of only 170 to win in the fourth Innings and Srinath took 6 wickets for just 21 runs in just 11.5 overs and South Africa were bowled out for 105 in the Fourth innings and he became a legend after this performance.

5/46 and 8/86 vs Pakistan (1999)


Even though this iconic performance by Javagal Srinath came in a losing cause In a test match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, it is still his best combined performance in a test match with 13 Wickets in the test match. In the first innings he took 5 wickets of the Pakistan Innings for only 46 runs in 19 overs and Pakistan were bowled out for 185. Then in the important 3rd innings of this test match he produced his best and got 8 out of the 10 Wickets in the Innings giving away 86 runs in the process.

6/76 vs South Africa (2001)


The third performance that we will talk about is an away performance that came against South Africa in their own backyard and it was one of his most lethal spells of fast bowling. It was the 1at innings of the test match and Srinath was on fire and he got 6 wickets In this innings giving away 76 runs in 30 overs and South Africa were Bowled out for 362 in the first innings. The match was drawn but it was one of his very best bowling performances.

5/24 vs Sri Lanka (1993)


This was in the early 2 years in the career of Javagal Srinath and to produce a performance of this caliber showed the world that he is a special talent and it is one of his best ever ODI bowling performances as well. It was an ODI match against a very strong Sri Lankan team and they were batting first and Srinath in just 6.4 overs of hostile fast bowling took 5 wickets for just 21 runs and Sri Lanka were bowled out for 203 and India won the match by 7 wickets In the end.

5/23 vs Bangladesh (1998)


This is the best bowling performance in the career of Javagal Srinath in ODIs and it came in 1998 when he was the peak of his career and he was getting the batters out fir fun. This match was held at Dhaka and in the first innings when Bangla were batting Srinath bowled a dream spell of fast bowling and took 5 wickets for 23 runs in 10 overs meaning an economy rate of just 2.3 per over and as a result of this incredible performance Bangladeshi were bowled out for 190 and India won the match by 4 wickets.
