We did a profile article on Mark Boucher and now it’s time to talk about some of his best batting innings and since he had such a long international career there have been many memorable innings that he has played so it will be tough to choose 5 but i will try my best. Mark Boucher was a keeper batter and not the other way around and still he scored more than 10000 international runs for South Africa which is incredible. We will talk about his records below.

Mark Boucher played International cricket from 1997-2012 and in these 15 years he has left an indelible mark on the game. He has played 147 Test Matches for South Africa which is staggering and he has scored 5515 runs at an average of 30.30 with 5 test hundreds to his name. And in the ODI format he has played 295 ODIs for South Africa and he has made 4686 runs at an average of 28.57 with 1 ODI Hundred. So, let’s look at his Top 5 Best Innings.


100 vs West Indies (1999)


Just 2 years into his test career he scored his first test hundred and it came in a winning cause for South Africa and the first test hundred is always the most special one. South Africa were in a bit of trouble when he came into bat in the first innings of this test match at number 8 and he played for 183 balls and he hit 16 fours which means a total of 64 runs in boundaries and he struck at 54.64 and scored his first test hundred and due to his innings South Africa were able to post a competitive first innings score.

125 vs Zimbabwe (1999)


The year 1999 was very good for Mark Boucher the batter as just few months later he made a match winning 125 runs and he made these runs against the best Zimbabwe team ever and South Africa were replying in the second innings of the test match and Mark Boucher came at number 6 which is a promotion and he showed that he deserved it and he faced 236 balls and hit 28 fours in the Innings which means 72 runs in boundaries and he was striking at 52.97 and again due to his great innings South Africa won this match by a whopping an innings and 219 runs.


108 vs England (1999)


The third innings on this list from the year 2999 and it is now certain that Mark Boucher had a dream year in 1999 and this time he did it against England and this was the second batting innings for South Africa in this test match and Mark Boucher came at number 6 and made a brilliant 108 runs from 220 balls with 14 fours and 1 six which means a total of 62 runs in boundaries. He was striking at 49.09 and South Africa drew this match.

122* vs West Indies (2004)


Finally an innings which was not in the year 1999 and this innings by Mark Boucher and this was a different and more aggressive test innings from the keeper batter. South Africa were batting in the first innings and he came to bat at number 8 and Mark Boucher faced only 173 balls and he hit 20 fours and he had a strike rate of 70.52 and he scored a total of 80 runs in boundaries. This match was a draw but it showed that Mark Boucher still had it.

147* vs Zimbabwe (2006)


This was probably the best international innings that Mark Boucher played in his international career and this was an ODI innings and it came against Zimbabwe in 2006 and it was a blistering innings. South Africa were batting first and he came to bat at number 4 and  he only took 68 balls and hit 8 fours and 10 massive sixes which means a total of 92 runs in boundaries and his strike rate was 216.18. South Africa won the match by 171 Runs.
