Jhulan Goswami has played 14 Test Matches and in those she has taken 43 wickets at an average of 17.36. Her main format was the ODI format where she played 203 Matches before her last one tomorrow and has taken 253 wickets. In the T20I format she has played 68 Matches and has taken 58 Wickets so a total of 300+ international wickets for India. Let’s look at her Top 5 Best Performances.


5/11 vs Australia (2012)

This is the first performance on this list and it is a great bowling performance. She took this 5 wicket haul in the T20I format where while bowling first she tore apart the Australian batting order and bowled the best team in the world for just 89 runs. It was one of her best ever performances and a perfect example of how she could win a match on her own. She was the leader of the pack and even the mighty Aussies had no answers.

6/31 vs New Zealand (2011)

Her best bowling performance in ODIs came in this match in 2011 where she picked up 6 wickets In the Innings and she was at her rampaging best and everyone was in awe of her and till that time she has become a legend. New Zealand were bowled out fir 201 runs in the first innings but her effort went in vain as the Indian batters had no answers to the New Zealand bowling and they lost the match by 39 runs resulting in the sadness of Jhulan and India. From that time India has come a long way and we can make over 300 runs now.


5/16 vs England (2005)

This was the best ODI bowling performance by Jhulan which led to an Indian win and she was very proud of this incredible performance. England were batting first and Jhulan was just on the opposition from the get go and never allowed England to get any kind of momentum and the result was that they were bowled out for just 40 and India won that match in 14.3 overs. It was a simply sensational performance and she was getting more recognition with each passing performance.

5/33 and 5/45 vs England (2006)

It looks like Jhulan Goswami loved playing against England as her best test match performance also came against England in 2006 and at that time India did not play much test cricket. In the first innings she took 5 wickets for just 33 runs and did not allow England to get a big first innings score and in the second batting innings of England she again took 5 wickets for 45 runs and as a result India won that test match by 5 wickets and it was a very special moment for Jhulan Goswami.


4/16 vs West Indies (2005)

This performance came in the 2005 World Cup and Jhulan Goswami was the best bowler in the world at that point and in this match she showed it and it was the first innings and West Indies were batting first and Jhulan Goswami didn’t allow the batters to score runs at all and West Indies were bowled out for 135 and India won that match by 8 wickets with 17 overs to spare. Jhulan Goswami will always be the heart of Indian women’s cricket and she is one of the main reasons for the massive growth of women's cricket and finally a women’s IPL in 2023.
