And in the ODI format he played 123 ODIs for England and made 4335 runs at an average of 37.37 with 12 ODI hundreds that means a total of 26 International hundreds in his career. 219 vs South Africa (2003)


The first performance that we will talk about is the extraordinary double hundred that he got against South Africa in 2003 and in this match South Africa had made a huge score of 484 in the first innings and England were replying and Marcus Trescothick came out to open and played a sublime Innings and in 374 balls of test Cricket brilliance he hit 32 fours and 2 sixes in this innings meaning a total of 140 runs in boundaries. He was striking at a rate of 58.56 and his innings of 219 was the catalyst which allowed England to win this match by 9 wickets in the end.

194 vs Bangladesh (2005)


The next performance of Marcus Trescothick on this list is the brutal innings that he played against Bangladesh and this innings was special because he played in a very aggressive manner different from his usual style. He made 194 from just 259 balls while hitting 23 fours in this innings and he struck it at 74.90 which tells us that only though 92 runs were scored in boundaries Marcus Trescothick rotated the strike so well that he was playing an ODI like innings in a test match. This innings helped England win this match by an innings and 261 runs.

180 vs South Africa (2005)


Another Marcus Trescothick classic against South Africa and this time it came in the second innings of this test match where the match was evenly poised after the first innings where born teams had made over 410 runs and England had to get ahead and Marcus Trescothick did just that and in extreme pressure he played one of the Innings pr his life when he smashed 180 from just 248 balls and he hit 24 fours and 4 sixes in this innings meaning a total of 120 runs in boundaries and he was striking at 72.58 and he was the only one who made more than 55 in this innings so the difference in this match was clearly him which allowed England to win this match by 77 runs.

119 vs Zimbabwe (2002)


Marcus Trescothick played one of his best ODI innings against the best Zimbabwe team of all time and a team which was also one of the best in the world. England were batting first in this ODI match and Marcus Trescothick made 119 amazing runs in only 102 balls while hitting 11 fours and 2 big sixes in this innings and he was striking at am incredible 116.67 and he was the standout batter in this match and his innings helped England win this match by a whopping 108 runs. Marcus Trescothick tore apart one of the best bowling attacks at that time.

104* vs Australia (2005)


This list of the best performances of Marcus Trescothick would have been incomplete without a mention against Australia and finally the last performance is this innings vs the best team in the world at that time. England were chasing 220 to win in 50 overs and Marcus Trescothick made it look like a walk in the park as he played one I’d the most brilliant innings against the world class Australia bowling attack as he made 104* in 134 balls he just hit 8 fours and 1 six and his strike rate was 77.61 and yet England won this match by 9 wickets with 4 overs to spare. A dominant batting Performance by one of the best at that time.
