Climax Lawrence, born on 16 January 1979, is a former professional Indian footballer who plays as a midfielder for FC Bardez in the Goa Professional League. He began his professional career in 1998 at the age of 19, signing his first contract with Salgaocar Football Club. After six years with Salgaocar, he transferred to East Bengal Club in 2004 but stayed for only one season before joining Dempo Club. He continues to play for Dempo, where he has contributed significantly to the team’s success in various championships and tournaments. Known as a tenacious defensive midfielder, Lawrence is also widely respected for his humility and patience on the field. According to veteran Goan footballer Franky Barreto, Climax spent considerable time on the substitute bench during his early days at Salgaocar, demonstrating perseverance in the face of limited opportunities.
Climax Lawrence credits his former coach at Salgaocar Club, Marcus Pacheco, for recognizing and nurturing his hidden potential during the early stages of his career. His consistent performances with Dempo Club have played a key role in their recent successes, including their strong showing in the National Football League (NFL) season and the inaugural I-League campaign. These achievements helped Dempo qualify for the group stage of the 2009 AFC Champions League, which was held at Tokyo’s National Stadium in November 2009.
In 2002, Climax was called up to the Indian National Football Team by then-coach Stephen Constantine. Since his debut, he has been a regular presence in the national squad, representing India in numerous international tournaments and matches. One of his most memorable moments came in July 2008 during the AFC Challenge Cup, where he scored the decisive goal in the 91st minute to secure a 1-0 victory over Afghanistan.
Throughout his career, he has represented both the Indian National Team and several notable football clubs in prestigious international competitions.

Climax Lawrence concluded his club football career with Laxmi Prasad SC. Ahead of the 2017–18 season, he was invited by renowned coach Armando Colaco to assist in a coaching role during the Goa Charity Cup match on August 27. The match featured Goa Police Cup champions Salgaocar FC, and Lawrence’s involvement was in support of the newly established FC Bardez, formed in 2016.
Climax Lawrence has served the Indian Football Team for over 10 years. Climax has also played for some top Indian teams like Atlético de Kolkata, Dempo Sports Club, Salgaocar Football Club, Kingfisher East Bengal FC and Mumbai Football Club.

Climax represented India 81 times in senior-level from 2002.
Climax Lawrence, has been nominated for the Arjuna Award in 2015.
He retired from the National team on 1 February 2012.
