Heath Streak had a glorious 12 year international career with Zimbabwe in which he was their star all rounder and many times he did it with both bat and ball. Here a look at his top 5 best bowling performances.

In a previous article we talked about the Top 5 Best Andy Flower batting Performances and in this one we will talk about another all time great of Zimbabwe cricket Heath Streak and his Top 5 bowling performances in his career. Heath Streak was also In the same team as Andy Flower and they were the biggest match winners for Zimbabwe for more than a decade and as always we will talk about his Records below.


Heath Streak had a glorious 12 year international career with Zimbabwe in which he was their star all rounder and many times he did it with both bat and ball. He played 65 Test Matches and he took 216 Test wickets at a very good average of 28.14 with 7 Five wicket hauls and he also scored 1990 Test runs for Zimbabwe with a highest test score of 127*. In the ODI format he played 189 ODI Matches and in those Matches he took 239 ODI wickets at an average of. 29.83 with 1 Give wicket haul and he scored 2943 runs in ODIs with 13 Half centuries. 6/90 vs Pakistan (1995)


This is the same match where Andy Flower scored 156 vs Pakistan and in the first batting innings of Pakistan it was Heath Streak who destroyed the batting order of Pakistan which had Aamir Sohail, Saeed Anwar and the others and took 6 wickets for 90 runs and restricted Pakistan to 322 runs and this was the arrival of Heath Streak to the international cricket World and he was going only upwards from here.

6/87 vs England (2000)


Even though Zimbabwe lost this test match but fir Heath Streak to take 5+ wickets at Lord's, getting on the honors board is a special achievement. It was the first batting of England after Zimbabwe had gotten out for just 83 in the first innings and England made 415 in their first innings but Heath Streak was the lone warrior for Zimbabwe as he took 6 wickets for 87 runs in almost 36 overs and was the Undisputed leader of the attack.

6/73 vs India (2005)


This was the last bowling performance of Heath Streak in test cricket and it was his best ever as he took 6 wickets for just 73 runs and bowed out in style even though his team lost the match. Zimbabwe were bowled out for 161 in the first innings and then in reply India made 388 and they could have made more but Heath Streak took 6 wickets in 32 overs and did not allow India to touch the score of 400. A perfect exit for one of the greats of Zimbabwe cricket.

5/32 vs India (1997)


This was the best ODI bowling performance in the career of Heath Streak and it again came against India in a match in 1997. India were batting first and Heath Streak just tore apart the batting line-up and in just 8.5 overs and giving away only 32 runs took 5 wickets and India were bowled out for only 168 and Zimbabwe won the match by 8 wickets through the D/L method.

4/8 vs West Indies (2001)


How Zimbabwe won this match is beyond understanding and Heath Streak bowled a dream spell of just 4/8 to win Zimbabwe a famous match. While batting first Zimbabwe only made 138 in their Innings and all looked lost but the champ Heath Streak said Not Today as he took wickets at regular intervals and in 8 overs just gave away 8 runs and took 4 wickets and won the match for Zimbabwe by a massive 47 runs.
