Lasith Malinga is not only one of the greatest Sri Lankan fast bowlers but also one of the best bowlers in the world for a number of years. His bowling action was the most unique and all the batters initially had no idea how to play him but as they played him batter , he developed more variations in his deliveries and he got lots of wickets and was a world champion with Sri Lanka in 2014 as well.


Lasith Malinga is also one of the most entertaining bowlers ever to come out of Sri Lanka and he had a knack of picking up lots of wickets at once and he has won lots of matches for Sri Lanka. The full name of Lasith Malinga is Separamady Lasith Malinga and he was born on 28th August 1983 in Galle which is a town in Sri Lanka. He from a relatively young age was into cricket and especially the bowling side of it and he wanted to become a fast bowler and represent Sri Lanka and Play for his nation. He had a lot of other names that he was fondly known by , they include Yorker King, Kagaweena, Malinga the Slinga, Mali and the Rathgarma Express. He could bat also but not much and he was a fast bowler not medium fast.

International Information :


He played for Sri Lanka with high honor and Pride between 2004-2020 and he was pretty good at it. He got his test cap and played his first test match for Sri Lanka on 1st July 2004 against Australia and his last test match was on 3rd August 2010 against India so he didn’t play test cricket for a long time. His debut ODI match was on 17th July 2004 vs UAE and his final ODI match was against Bangladesh on 26th July 2019. His T20I debut was on 15th June 2006 against England and after 14 years his last T20I was on 6th March 2020 vs West Indies.
