His standout performance came in 2011, when he smashed 119 from 56 balls against the Deccan Chargers. That innings demonstrated exactly what Sehwag brought to the side: immediate pressure on the bowling attack.
Role: Aggressive right-hand opener who attacks from the first over.

Across his Delhi stints, Warner accumulated more than 2,500 runs, including two centuries and over 20 half-centuries.
His inclusion adds another proven left-hander to the top order. Warner can also shift between opening and No. 3, giving the XI flexibility depending on the match situation.

4. Shreyas Iyer – Captain
Shreyas Iyer provides the leadership and middle-order stability this XI needs.

His value goes beyond the statistics. Iyer gives the lineup a right-handed middle-order anchor who can absorb pressure when early wickets fall and build an innings around the more aggressive players.
Role: Captain and middle-order stabilizer.
5. Rishabh Pant – Wicketkeeper-Batter
Rishabh Pant is the statistical centerpiece of this all-time Delhi XI. He is the franchise's leading run-scorer and one of its most destructive middle-order batters.

Role: Wicketkeeper and primary middle-order finisher.
6. JP Duminy – All-Rounder
South Africa's JP Duminy offers balance to the XI. During his Delhi stint, particularly between 2014 and 2016, he combined dependable batting with useful off-spin.

For Delhi, Axar has produced 50-plus wickets and more than 800 runs, while maintaining an economy rate below 7.20.
His left-arm orthodox spin gives the bowling attack a different angle from Amit Mishra's leg-spin. With the bat, he can provide useful lower-order runs and finishing power.
Role: Left-arm spin all-rounder who adds control and depth.
8. Amit Mishra – Leg-Spinner
Amit Mishra is the leading wicket-taker in Delhi's franchise history, making his place in the XI difficult to overlook.

Kagiso Rabada spearheaded Delhi's pace attack during one of the franchise's strongest periods.
He took 76 wickets in 50 matches for Delhi, including 30 wickets in IPL 2020, when he won the Purple Cap. His performances were central to Delhi's run to the final that season.
Rabada's combination of pace, yorkers and wicket-taking ability makes him the attack's primary strike fast bowler.
Role: Lead fast bowler for powerplay and death overs.
10. Morne Morkel – Fast Bowler
Morne Morkel brings height, bounce and sustained pace to the attack. His 2012 campaign was especially significant, as he claimed 25 wickets and won the Purple Cap.

His ability to extract bounce gives the attack a different threat from Rabada and Nortje, particularly against batters looking to play on the front foot.
Role: Right-arm fast bowler and bounce specialist.
11. Anrich Nortje – Fast Bowler
Anrich Nortje completes the pace trio. His raw speed became one of the defining features of Delhi's modern bowling attack.
Nortje has taken more than 50 wickets in over 40 matches for Delhi. He also recorded the IPL's fastest delivery at 156.22 km/h, highlighting the extreme pace he can generate.
