ODI Cricket has been around for close to 55 years. The wicket keeper in ODI Cricket is a mixture of a very good wicket Keeper and a good batter who has scored runs. The players who can do both are generally more successful as a Wicket keeper in this format. There will be some overlap from the list in Test Cricket to the one in this format.

1) MS Dhoni


There is no debate that MS Dhoni is the greatest wicket Keeper to ever play ODI Cricket. Not only is he one of the best Wicket Keepers of all time but he is also the best batter to be a wicket Keeper. He has played 350 ODIs for India. He has scored 10773 runs at an incredible average of 50.58. He has hit 10 hundreds in ODI Cricket. He has taken 321 Catches as a wicket Keeper and he has stumped the batters a record 123 times in ODI Cricket. He had the fastest hands of all time and no batter was safe. 2) Kumar Sangakkara


Kumar Sangakkara had an incredible career as a wicket keeper batter in ODI Cricket. It was very close between him and MS Dhoni for the top spot. He is the batter with the most runs as a wicket Keeper. He has made 14234 runs in ODI Cricket. He has hit 25 hundreds in ODI Cricket. As a Wicket keeper he has taken 383 Catches in ODI Cricket. He also has 99 stumpings to his name which makes him the wicket Keeper with the most combined dismissals in ODI Cricket. He has a total of 482 dismissals in ODI Cricket.


3) Adam Gilchrist


Adam Gilchrist was number 1 in the Test Cricket rankings and he is number 3 in the ODI list. It is safe to say that Adam Gilchrist is the greatest of all time. He has played 287 ODIs for Australia and is a 2 time ICC World Cup winner. He has made 9619 runs and he has scored 16 hundreds in ODI Cricket. Adam Gilchrist has taken 417 Catches as a wicket Keeper which is the record by a wicket Keeper for most number of Catches. He also has 55 stumpings to his credit. 4) Mark Boucher


This wicket Keeper from South Africa will always be in the top half of the greatest Wicket keepers list. Mark Boucher was a wonder keeper. He played 295 ODIs for South Africa. He scored 4686 runs. Mark Boucher took 402 Catches as a wicket Keeper which makes him the second ever keeper to take more than 400 Catches in ODI Cricket and the only man in history to take more than 400 Catches in both Test Cricket and ODIs. Mark Boucher is absolutely one of the greatest of all time.


5) Moin Khan


This is the first wicket Keeper from Pakistan to be in this list. Moin Khan was the best keeper that Pakistan has had in ODI Cricket. He played 219 ODIs in which he made 3266 runs for Pakistan. Moin Khan has taken 214 Catches as a wicket Keeper. He has also stumped 73 batters in ODI Cricket. Pakistan have not had a keeper that has had such a sustained run. Sarfaraz Khan was a good keeper but he was kicked out of the team.


6) Brendon Mccullum


This explosive wicket Keeper batter from New Zealand is number 6 in this list. Brendon Mccullum is one of the best wicket Keepers that ODI Cricket has seen. He has played 260 ODIs for New Zealand. He has made 6083 runs and he has hit 5 hundreds in ODI Cricket. Brendon Mccullum has taken 227 Catches as a wicket Keeper for New Zealand. He also has 15 stumpings in ODI Cricket. He is currently the all format coach for England.


7) Quinton De Kock


He is the only active wicket Keeper in this list. Quinton De Kock retired from ODI Cricket but he has returned back to the team. He has so far played in 155 ODIs for South Africa. He has scored 6770 runs in which he has hit 21 hundreds in ODI Cricket. Quinton De Kock will look to play in the 2027 World Cup at home and win it. He has taken 209 Catches as a wicket Keeper so far and has 17 stumpings to his credit. Quinton De Kock can reach close to 300 Catches by the end of his career.


8) Ian Healy


Ian Healy is one of those wicket Keepers that are in the All Time Test Cricket list as well as the ODI list. He has played 168 ODIs for Australia in his career. He has made 1764 runs in ODI Cricket. Ian Healy has taken 194 Catches as a wicket Keeper in ODI Cricket. He has stumped 39 batters during his time in ODI Cricket. He is the second best Wicket Keeper that Australia has seen after Adam Gilchrist.


9) Jos Buttler


The England wicket Keeper is one of the best that England has ever seen. He has been a very good wicket Keeper Batter. He has so far played in 193 ODIs for England. He has scored 5412 runs where he has hit 16 hundreds in ODI Cricket. Jos Buttler has taken 228 Catches in ODI Cricket. He also has 38 stumpings to his name. By the time his career ends he would want to reach over 300 Catches. Jos Buttler is also a World Cup Winner.


10) Andy Flower


The wicket Keeper from Zimbabwe has made it to both lists. He is the best Wicket Keeper ever from the associate nations. Andy Flower has played in 213 ODIs for Zimbabwe. He scored 6786 runs in which he hit 4 hundreds in ODI Cricket. Andy Flower was a very good wicket Keeper. He took 133 catches as a Wicket keeper for Zimbabwe. Andy Flower also stumped out 32 batters. Zimbabwe cricket is nowhere to be seen today.
