The full name of Ricky Ponting is Ricky Thomas Ponting and he was born on 19th December 1974 I  Tasmania in Australia and since a young age it was noticed that he had a cricket savvy brain and he was extremely talented as well so he was put in training and after hard work he was able to play for Australia. He is fondly called Punter and his teammates and co workers. His height is 5 ft 10 inches which helped him attack the bouncer as well and score a lot of runs from the pull and hook shot. He was also a right arm medium pace bowler when needed.

He played for Australia from 1995-2012 and it was an amazing 17 year career at the very top of the game and he is an inspiration for a lot of young stars. His first test match was on 8th December 1995 against Sri Lanka and after 17 years on 3rd December 2012 vs South Africa. Just like this his first ODI match 15th February 1995 vs South Africa and on 19th February 2012 against India he played their last ODI match. He was one of the most important players of the last 30 years.
