The first truly great team in ODI Cricket West Indies has seen some of the greatest cricketers play this format. They are a team that won the first 2 World Cups in 1975 and 1979 and were the runners up in 1983. There was no team that was close to them in terms of star power. West Indies had a good team till the early 2010s but suddenly their quality has dropped.

Brian Lara 


He is one of the rare men in West Indies cricket that has scored over 10,000 runs in both Test Cricket and ODIs. Brian Lara is the perfect number 4 and he was compared to Sachin Tendulkar. Brian Lara played 299 ODIs in his career. He made 10405 runs at an average of 40.49. Brian Lara hit 19 hundreds in ODI Cricket. He has a highest score of 169 in ODI Cricket. Clive Lloyd (C)


Clive Lloyd will be the captain of this team as he was the 2 time World Cup winning captain for West Indies. He might not have the number of runs the other Batters have but his importance to West Indies cricket cannot be overstated. He played 87 ODIs for West Indies. He scored 1977 runs at an average of 39.54. Clive Lloyd had a highest score of 102 In ODIs. He is among the Top 3 greatest captains in ODI Cricket. 


Carl Hooper


At number 6 will be Carl Hooper for the West Indies. He was a batter that was underrated and not as known as the other names. He played 227 ODIs for West Indies in his career. Carl Hooper scored 5761 runs at an average of 35.34. He has made 7 hundreds in ODI Cricket and his highest score is 113*. Carl Hooper will provide longevity to the batting order.

He took 146 Wickets at a very good average of 18.85. He took 3 Five Wicket Hauls in ODI Cricket. Joel Garner has best bowling figures of 5/31. He was someone who would not back down from a contest. 


Curtly Ambrose 


Curtly Ambrose was the most ferocious bowler in the West Indies team. He was someone who knew how to take wickets in important moments in the match.
