The 2026 T20I World Cup will start from 7th February 2026. There will be 20 teams that will play the tournament. Virat Kohli played the shot of the century as he went forward and hit a six down the ground off a bouncer. He followed it up with another six. Everybody Remembered The Name Carlos Braithwaite
It was the Final of the 2016 T20I World Cup at Eden Gardens. It was West Indies vs England. West Indies needed 19 runs of the last over. Ben Stokes was bowling the over. What Carlos Braithwaite achieved that day will forever be remembered. He smashed 4 sixes from the first 4 balls of the over and West Indies won the World Cup. Ian Bishop was excellent in commentary as he coined Remember The Name. That was the second T20I World Cup for the West Indies.
India’s First Win in 2007 that Changed Cricket
It was the first edition of the T20I World Cup in 2007. Nobody knew what would happen or will this tournament work after all. India sent a young team and that team created history under MS Dhoni. They won the World Cup. They beat Pakistan earlier in the tournament via bowl out. Then Yuvraj Singh smashed 6 sixes in an over against Broad. He smashed 70 runs in the semi final as India beat Australia. It was India vs Pakistan in the final and India won the match in the final over. After that win the IPL was introduced and cricket was never the same again.

It was the final of the 2024 T20I World Cup. It was India vs South Africa. South Africa were cruising towards victory and then India came back in the match. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh bowled very good overs. However it was Hardik Pandya who was the hero. It was the final over and South Africa needed 16 runs. David Miller hit a shot towards long off but SKY was there and he took an incredible catch with all the pressure on him. India won the match and the T20I World Cup. Suryakumar Yadav was made the captain of the T20I World Cup team for the 2026 T20I World Cup.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that this is the biggest shocker and upset in the history of the T20I World Cup. The USA is a country that has not even been playing cricket for that long. They have players that are made up from Indians that could not find a place for India. Pakistan are one of the powerhouses of world cricket. Nobody expected the USA to beat Pakistan in any form of cricket ever. So when the USA stunned the cricketing world by beating Pakistan in the 2024 T20I World Cup it was a cultural sporting event that was talked about worldwide.
