The full name of Rahul Dravid is Rahul Sharad Dravid and he was born on 11th January 1973 at Indore In Madhya Pradesh and since the time he was young he was into cricket and he looked upto his heroes on the TV and seeing Sachin Tendulkar debut so young inspired him to play for the nation. He was called The Wall by all his fans as well as Jammy by his teammates and Me Dependable as he was extremely dependable in the middle. He was 5 ft 11 inches and this allowed him to tackle the short ball effectively and score a lot of runs on the leg side. He could bowl right arm off break as well as being a wicketkeeper when needed.

Rahul Dravid played for India at the highest level from 1996-2012 which is 16 years at the top of his game. He made his test debut on 20th June 1996 against England at Lord’s and scored an incredible 95 runs and from there it was no looking back for this great player. He played his last Test match against Australia on 24th January 2012 capping off an incredible 16 year journey. He played his first ODI match vs Sri Lanka on 3rd April 1996 and after 15 years he played his last ODI match on 16th September 2011 vs England.
