Robin Singh is one of the underrated cricketers of Indian cricket and he has had a mixed bag of a career as he has only played 1 test match and more than 100 ODIs. He played between 1989- 2001 and he was one of the best fielders in the Indian team ever. He was also a very capable batter so he should have achieved much more than what he did in his career.


Robin Singh after retirement has been more active with cricket with the various coaching roles he has taken up in the leagues. In the IPL he coached Deccan Chargers in the first season in 2008 and he has been in the Mumbai Indians setup since 2010 where he has won 5 IPL titles as a coach and in the CPL he has been coaching the Barbados Tridents since 2013.


The most important contribution of Robin Singh to Indian cricket is his fielding and the impact that his fielding had on the team as a whole and it motivated the other players in his team to become better fielders and save runs and take tough Catches. The full name of Robin Singh is Robindra Ramnarune Singh and he was born on 14th September 1963 in Princes Town in Trinidad and Tobago. He was always a  cricket fan and he came to India to chase opportunities in cricket and he was rewarded for his efforts as he got to play for India. He was a left handed batter and a right arm medium pace bowler.

International Information


Robin Singh played international cricket for India from 1989-2011 and his and only test match was against Zimbabwe on 1st October 1998 and he was test cap number 217 for India even if it was just for 1 test match. He played his first ODI match on 11th March 1989 vs West Indies and after 12 years of greatness he played his last ODI on 3rd April 2001 vs Australia. He achieved more in the ODI format of the game.
