This was the final of the 1986 Austral- Asia Cup and it was being played between India vs Pakistan and both these 2 were the best teams at that time. India batted first in this match and they played a good 50 overs. The Top 3 batters for India in this match were Kris Srikanth, Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar all scored more than 50 runs. They scored 75, 92 and 50 runs respectively. This helped India to reach a respectable total of 245 for the loss of 7 wickets. Pakistan had a target of 246 to win the match.

The Pakistan innings was a one man show as all the other batters could not even reach a 50. Wickets were falling at regular intervals but they had one man who was standing between India and a win. He ran for 86 of his runs and still had a strike rate of 102. It had come down to the last ball and Javed Miandad was on strike. Chetan Sharma had taken 3 Wickets in the match and he was bowling the last ball. Javed Miandad was ready and as soon as the ball was bowled, he smashed the ball for a big six and Pakistan won one of their most famous matches in history.
