1999 French Open Men’s Doubles Final
The first performance that we will talk about is the 1999 French Open Final in which the legendary Indian pair won their first Grand Slam title together and that was the first time an Indian pair won a Grand Slam. They beat their opponents Goran Ivanesivic and Jeff Tarango by 6-2 in the 1st set and in the second set it was closer but the pair won 7-5. This was the start of many legendary tournaments they would win together.

1999 Wimbledon Men’s Doubles Final
The next performance we will talk about is the 1999 Wimbledon Final immediately after the French Open Final and this match was a very close affair but the Indian pair won their 2nd Grand Slam title. They beat their opponents Paul Haarhuis and Jared Palmer in 4 sets and they lost the 1st set 7-6 and then they came back and won the next 3 sets 6-3,6-4 and 7-6. They won a historic Wimbledon title and made India proud again.
2001 French Open Men’s Doubles Final
They won their 2nd Grand Slam title together and it was the second French Open title and they again beat their opponents in 2 sets. Their opponents were Petr Pala and Pavel Vizner. Leander and Mahesh won the match in 2 sets 7-6 in the 1st set after the tie break but in the 2nd art they won 6-3 and won another Grand Slam title together as a pair.

2002 Asian Games Gold Medal Match
Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won the 2002 Asian Games Gold Medal and they won the Final match in convincing style as well. They beat their opponents Chung Hee- seok and Lee- Hyung talk in 2 sets by 6-2 and 6-3 and won another prestigious tournament for India. They had become the best doubles team in the world which was awesome.
2006 Asian Games Gold Medal Match
The last incredible performance of the duo that we will be talking about is the 2006 Asian Games Gold Medal Match which Leander and Mahesh won in 3 sets in a close match against the number 2 seed in that tournament. Their opponents were Sanchai Ratiwatana and Sonchat Ratiwatana and the Indian pair lost the first set in a clause 7-5 but the way they came back in the next 2 sets was a stuff of Champions. They won the second set 7-6 and then the third set 6-3 and won their second Gold Medal.
These two are the two greatest Tennis players to come out of India and it was sad to see get so bitter with each other and as a result Indian tennis suffered and since those 2 no other Indian pair has been able to win a Grand Slam together and hopefully they could have played more years together and won many more Grand Slam and other titles for India.
