Mahesh Bhupathi is a 12 time Doubles Grand Slam Champion and he has done it in both men’s and mixed doubles. He retired as an active player in 2016 and he had career win loss record in Singles at 10-28 and in doubles he has a record of 687 wins and 364 losses and his career prize money was $6,665,907. 1997 French Open Mixed Doubles Final


This was his first mixed doubles Grand Slam as it was at the French Open in 1997 just 2 years into his tennis career. He and his partner Rika Hirakud were playing against Lisa Raymond and Patrick Galbraith. The pair of Mahesh and Rika won the match in 2 sets but they were tested by their American opponents but the pair prevailed and won the match 6-4 and 6-4 thus winning the Grand Slam in 1997. This was the start of many for Mahesh.


2002 Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Final


This was the first Mixed Doubles title for Mahesh Bhupathi at Wimbledon and it was a thrilling 3 set final and after more than 90 minutes or rivetting tennis Mahesh and his partner Elena Likhovtseva won the match and they beat their opponents Kevin Ullyett and Daniela Huntchukova. Mahesh and Elena won the 1st set 6-2 but they lost the 2nd set badly by 6-1 but the tenacity and the resilience they showed by winning the 3rd set 6-1 was tremendous. Mahesh had won the battle of grass as well now.

1999 US Open Mixed Doubles Final


The third incredible Mahesh Bhupathi performance that we will talk about now is the 1999 US Open Mixed Doubles Final that he won with his partner Ai Sugiyama and she was the third different partner that Mahesh Bhupathi won the mixed doubles Grand Slam with. Their opponents were Kimberly Po and Donald Johnson of America and it looks like Mahesh liked beating the Americans as he and Ai won in 2 sets 6-4 and 6-4 and now he had a mixed doubles Grand Slam in the 3rd out of the 4 slams.


2006 Australian Open Mixed Doubles Final


Now we come to the 4th Grand Slam and it took a while for Mahesh to win the mixed doubles Australian Open Final and finally he found an incredible partner in Martina Hingis who also had won Grand Slam titles with Leander Paes and he and Martina won the Australian Open in 2006 by beating their opponents Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor In straight sets by 6-3 and 6-3 and Mahesh Bhupathi had won a career Grand Slam in the mixed doubles category.


2002 US Open Men’s Doubles Final


The last performance of Mahesh Bhupathi that we will be talking about is the 2002 US Open Men’s Doubles Final that he won in 2002 with his partner Max Mirnyl and it was a 3 set thriller as their opponents Jiri Novak and Radek Stepsnek were game to fight till the end. Mahesh and Mac won the 1st set 6;3 but lost the 2nd set 6-3 aa well but they came back strong in the deciding set and won it by 6-4 thus winning the 2002 US Open Men’s doubles title.
